Richard Byrne offers a blog titled “Free Technology for Teachers” (http://www.freetech4teachers.com/). This Website has so much to offer a teacher who is looking to become more technologically savvy and bring technology into the classroom. Updated daily, the Website offers so many links to a variety of resources that can be used in the classroom. Additionally, he has several guides available for free to download about how to integrate technology in the classroom. As a teacher, I would use this Website as a resource when looking to integrate technology in my classroom.
YummyMath (http://www.yummymath.com/) is a Website that offers free daily math investigations that relate to current events around the world. In the classroom, this Website would be useful to use as a bell-ringer or engage for math time. I like that it makes math relevant to students by applying it to current events. Each activity is aligned to the NCTM Process Standards and the CCSS Standards for Mathematical Practice.
Dan Meyer, Stanford University Doctoral candidate, (http://blog.mrmeyer.com/) blogs about math education. Offering tips and strategies to be an effective teacher, how to integrate technology, as well as algebra and geometry lesson plans, his blog is useful for any teacher to read steal ideas to apply to his or her own classroom. As a teacher, I would use this blog as a reference to stay up to date on teaching mathematics, and to research useful techniques to apply within my own classroom.
